How is it that graffiti, depending on the position, is either amazing, or annoying?

It is interesting. Melbourne has a zero tolerance policy on spray cans. Carrying one without a lawful reason is an offence, which is interesting, given the presumption of innocence which is the foundation of criminal law in Australia.

Tagging is a big issue here, but I'm sure that is the same everywhere. There is a lot of interest in more ephemeral forms of street art such as stickers and paste ups. They are quicker, andalso it isn't illegal to carry stickers (yet).

Eh, I'm in the US, and I actually got carded when I tried to buy a couple of cans of spray paint. Car paint, in flat black. I mean, what ELSE could I possibly be buying it for, it's car paint. I have to say, though, the innocent until rpven guilty bit is the premise of law, but it doesn't carry out too well.

Personally, I think they should make graffiti legal in certain areas (Subways, etc), because the fact is, a good amount of it is actual art. I mean, why have dank gray walls when you can have colorful murals?
